Supplier Selection
Our quality process begins with our tiered Supplier Selection and Approval System that ranks our vendors based on our rigorous standards. All suppliers are categorized, documented, routinely reviewed, and are subject to tier-reclassification in response to events/patterns experienced by Classic and/or reported by third-party resources, including:
- Supplier non-conformance based on product reliability/integrity.
- Change in quality status relative to industry standards.
- Industry reports relating to vendor’s overall quality.
- Any changes in financial conditions including outstanding payment or accounting issues.
Shipping of substandard products, or repeated issues related to product quality, result in indefinite suspension.
Inspection and Testing
Our certified quality professionals are trained to inspect all aspects of received products, including packaging, labels and barcodes, part markings, X-ray, decapsulation, marking permanency and dimensions to confirm that they meet with the manufacturer’s specifications. We can provide higher-level functionality testing through any one of our lab partners. This process is thoroughly documented in our operations system to enable global team-member access and to ensure consistency.
Logistics
Every shipment at Classic is tracked to the minute, and our packaging solutions safeguard product condition during transportation. Additionally, our certified inspection and logistics hubs in Torrance, CA and Hong Kong, afford considerable cost and timing advantages relative to a single/central logistics facility approach.
